Pause For Thought

Lamentations 3 : 22 & 23

“For His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

By the end of a summer’s day, a sandy beach is in a mess: sandcastles, footprints of dogs and their owners, discarded debris… all there, and more.  But overnight, the tide comes in, the sand is flattened, the rubbish and seaweed left a high-tide mark or washed away altogether.  The beach starts a new day.

Here is a picture of God’s utter faithfulness and love.  His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning.  We can be sure of God’s faithfulness and love, 365 or 366 days of the year, as sure as the tide, but we must remember daily that our God is the God of the impossible.  Because of his great might and power, as well as His love for us, he is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine.  Praise be to God.
