For Praise and Thanks

We have 2 events to thank and praise the Lord for this last month, first of all we rejoiced with Michael as he was Baptised and welcomed into Church Membership. Then for the wonderful time we had at Eve’s Dedication Service, the Service and BBQ afterwards were enjoyed by all.

For Prayer

For the Leadership Team as it meets on the 16th July.

For Howard as he looks for a new job and that he will soon be able to sell his car.

For Ayan possibly starting work with Broomcroft Nursing Home and that she will soon be able to take her Driving Test.

For the School Holidays that all children will be kept safe and for people going on holiday for a time of rest and relaxation.

For Helen’s (Pre-school Leader) father who is unwell and brother who has just lost his job.

For the Diamonds our Support Missionaries as they return home in July and settle in Birmingham.  Please pray for Lucy, Katherine and Lily as they go to new schools in September that they may soon make new friends and for Stephen and Caroline as they seek the way forward.  They will do an end of service programme, visiting some of their partner churches between September and November telling about their work in India.

For Robert, Phillippa, Nathan, Keziah, Jerushah and Joel as they move to Southern Ireland to teach at children’s summer Bible Camps for June and July, and then make preparations to return to Botswana at the end of July.  Please pray that all the details and plans to go well.

For Ping with a bad back and the difficulty of carrying Esther.

Pause for Thought

What fills your mind?  Let’s think about some alternatives.  Rejoicing in the Lord - or wallowing in gloom and self-pity?  Being gentle - or consumed with anger, hurting everyone in your path?  Full of gratitude - or indifferent?  Worrying yourself sick - or handing that anxiety to God, knowing that he does exchange our anxiety for his peace which goes way beyond our understanding; that he does guard our hearts and minds even when the worst happens; that he is quite capable of keeping our essential selves in his love without our having to work it all out for ourselves.  If Jesus is always the same and always with us, won’t that make the difference in the worst circumstances      Chris Leonard.
