Items for Thanks and Praise

For a lovely sunny day for the FUNday at The Oakes, an answer to prayer as it was the only dry day that week.

For the fact that Jhonnar has now got a Passport and Visa and will be spending the summer in Spain before returning to The Oakes about October time.

Items for Prayer

For the Leadership Team as it talks to Clive Burnard, Kez and the wider YBA team re a potential minister.

For Sina (Ayan’s sister) as she returns to India about the middle of July, that she will have a safe journey and also as she prepares for her wedding in December.  We hope to see her again.

For Ayan who will miss her sister.  Ayan does have a friend coming to stay with her and keep her company, we pray this works out for her.

For Pat who is continuing to improve and hoping to return home next Wednesday. Pat has a check-up appointment at the hospital on July 11th and we hope that everything will be well.

For Gabby as she finishes Junior School and says good-bye to some of her friends and prepares to start at Henry Fanshawe School in Dronfield from September.

For the school holidays that children will be kept safe.  For the Chernobyl Children who arrive on the 20th July for a month, that they will soon settle down and have a good time.

For the Open the Book teams as we await dates for the next Academic year, it is good to know that we have been well received at all schools by both teachers and children.

Pause for Thought

Having just got back from a week in the Dolomite mountains in Italy I was reminded of the poem Stop and Stare by William Henry Davies

“What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare? -

no time to stand beneath the boughs, and stare as long as sheep and cows:

no time to see, when woods we pass, where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

no time to see, in broad daylight, streams full of stars, like skies at night:

no time to turn at Beauty’s glance, and watch her feet, how they can dance:

no time to wait till her mouth can enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.”

my words “and be thankful for all that God has made.  TAKE TIME FOR HE CARETH

FOR YOU, NEW EVERY MORNING GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS”
