Items for Prayer

It was great to have Howard back with us on Sunday.  Please pray that as he looks for work that he may be led to the right job.

For Michael’s Baptismal Service on the 20th May, may he know the peace of God surrounding him.

For the Leadership Team as they meet that the Lord’s will will be done.

For the work on the Porch, there has been the minimal amount of disruption and hopefully the work should be finished this month, giving us a light and welcoming porch.

For Ping visiting family in China that she will have a good time and be kept safe.

For Liz Cole who works with us at M-eating Place and Toddlers whose father passed away just before Easter, may Liz and the family know the Lord’s comfort at this time.

For Beryl and Josie finding it more and more difficult to get out, that they may feel supported by our prayers.

For the Diamond’s in India, (Stephen, Caroline, Lucy, Katherine and Lily).  The temperature is now 42C and it is not high summer yet.  The cafe is now open please pray that people will feel welcome. Lucy is taking her IGCSEs which have been  going on from February and don’t finish till June.

For the Cismas’s on furlough at the moment in Scotland, (Robert, Phillippa, Nathan, Keziah, Jerusha and Joel).  That they may have a time of rest in between visiting churches to talk about their work in Botswana.  They are in Scotland till mid June and then will be going over to the Republic of Ireland to take children’s summer schools till mid July.  Then it is back to the UK and back to Africa.

Living Water by Amy Boucher Pye

Water - it’s the stuff of life.  It makes up over half our bodies, and we need it to stay alive.

Why not think about God your provider every time you use water in some way?  For example, when you boil a kettle, remember that he loves you.  When you wash your hands, recall that he is the good shepherd who knows his sheep.  When you flush the loo, think about how he restores his people.  When you look outside and see rain and mist, ponder how God makes he children joyful.

Thinking about something as ordinary as water can refocus our attention on the all-powerful yet all-loving God who made us.  As we acknowledge that all things come from him who is our living water, we drink and are refreshed.
