Other things to mention from the Leadership Team

Saturday 20 October, 2:30pm. Induction of Revd. Clive Burnard as the Yorkshire Baptist Association's new Regional Minister for South Yorkshire. The service will be held at The Well Baptist Church, 603. Ecclesall Rd, Sheffield. Please let Martin know by 7 October if you will be attending so he can let the YBA know. It would be good for Beauchief to be represented at this.

Saturday 17 November 9:30am-3pm. YBA Small Churches Resource Day on the theme of Mission Action Planning to be held at Wakefield Baptist Church. No charge, including free lunch! Some of us are already planning to go, but there's room for more! Further details from Martin. YBA's deadline for bookings is 31 October.

At the next Fellowship Meeting on 18 November we will be holding an election of Deacons (or Church Leaders as we tend to call them). The current leadership team (David, Jackie and Martin) have another year of their 3 year period of office to serve, however the Church rules allow for there to be up to 9 Leaders (at present we're unlikely to get anywhere near that number of course!). People do need to be a Church Member to be able to stand for the election. They need to  be nominated in writing by 2 other Church Members, and the nominee must have given their consent beforehand. Any nominations must be handed to Martin by Sunday 4 November. If anyone needs further information about the election please contact Martin. Let's all pray that the Lord will guide us on this important matter.

Praise and Thanks

The Front Porch is now completed barring the painting, it has been a long drawn out process but it has been worth it.  The Church Ramp at the back to the church has also been completed.  Praise the Lord for all he benefits.

The MacMillan Coffee Morning held by the Toddler Group raised about £87.00 any more donations will be gratefully received by Tricia.

Items for Prayer

For the Leadership Team as it meets on the 1st, for leading and guiding for them.

For Ayan - being ‘Bank Staff’ she has had to cover a number of Sunday’s recently and is missing church.  Please pray that things will get back to normal soon and that she will be able to join us again.  Ayan will be going home to India for 3 weeks at the end of October pray that she will have a good time with her family.

For the new team at The Oakes as they settle down and work together and for Johnny as he leads them.

For Jhonnar as he spends time with friends in Sweden and then returns to Venezuela for Christmas.  In the New Year he will be applying for a new Visa to return and work at the Oakes.  Please pray that it will be granted and for safe journeys for him.

Lesley sends her best wishes to everyone at church, she has had a good summer with a number of visits and lots of contact with her family.  Tyndale Baptist Church celebrates it’s 150th Anniversary this year, so lots going on at the church she attends.

For Steve Ansell and his wife Sarah as they begin their Ministry at Hereford Baptist Church.  His Induction Service is on Saturday 6th October at 3.00pm.  All welcome.

Pause for Thought

From Revelation 3:19

‘Jesus wants to ‘eat’ with us.  This is a God you can know; a God you can have fellowship with; a God you can share your whole life with.  Having taken away that which separates us from him, this is a God who is for you, not against you’

From Day by Day with God - Sheila Jacobs.
