Update on the Appointment of a Minister

There are some important and exciting developments to report:-

The Deacons have been discussing with Rev. Andy Gower whether it would be right to invite him to become the Church’s Minister.  You may remember that he led worship on the 29th September.  He has now accepted an invitation from the Deacons to return on the 1st December to lead a family service.

After the service, there will be opportunities for everyone to meet Andy (and his wife Carolyn) over lunch followed by a time of discussion.

After the Service on the 8th December, there will be a Fellowship Meeting to decide whether we should invite Andy to become our Minister.

The Deacons encourage everyone to make every effort to be present on both the 1st and 8th December - please make a note of these dates in your diaries! In the meantime please pray that the Church and Andy will know the Lord’s guiding.

We have also heard that the Yorkshire Baptist Association Grants Group has agreed in principle to provide us with Home Mission funding towards the cost of appointing a Minister.  The precise details of the grant have still to be finalised, but we can give thanks for this good news.
